Introduction

Beloved, we live in a time of remarkable spiritual hunger, cultural shifts, and the growing awareness that the Lord’s return is not just a distant hope, but a present motivation. According to research, Christians are increasingly seeking to integrate faith into every area of life—not just Sunday mornings, but work, relationships, finance, vocation, mission. Today’s sermon challenges us to live in readiness for the return of Jesus Christ, to walk in revelation, purpose and Kingdom-impact, as members of Deeper Realms International.

Let us turn to Scripture and invite the Holy Spirit to guide us into truth and transformation.

I. The Certainty & Centrality of Christ’s Return

  1. The return of Christ is not a fringe idea—it is central to the New Testament. For example we read: “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 3:20)
“And this same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11)
  2. The Parable of the Ten Virgins reminds us: “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.” (Matthew 25:13)
As believers, we are not called to speculation about the date — but to preparation.
  3. The Lord Himself said: “But of that day and hour no one knows—not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son—but only the Father.” (Mark 13:32)
  4. Why is this so important? Because the return of Christ will usher in the fullness of God’s Kingdom, judgement, restoration, and reward. (See Revelation 1:7 “Look! He is coming with clouds…”).
Application: We must anchor our lives and our ministry in the reality of Christ’s return. It changes our priorities, our urgency, and our posture.

II. Signs, Seasons & Spiritual Readiness

  1. Scripture declares that there will be signs: wars, rumours of wars, false prophets, moral decay, normative deception. (See Matthew 24:4‑8)
  2. Yet we cannot fixate on signs as our security; instead we fix our eyes on the Saviour and live in holiness and love. “You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” (Matthew 24:44)
  3. Recent research shows Christian believers feel increasing cultural pressure and that many areas of the world are still unreached—thus the urgency of readiness and mission.
  4. Spiritual readiness means not just waiting, but actively engaging in three areas:
    • Holiness of life: “Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?” (2 Peter 3:11)
    • Mission of the Gospel: Be those who carry light into darkness, not hiding our lamp.
    • Service with urgency: Because time is short, but opportunities for the Kingdom remain.
Application: Review your life. Are you spiritually alert? Are you engaged in the mission? Are you living in a way that honours the Lord’s return?

III. Living Today in the Light of Tomorrow

  1. Integrate faith and every sphere of life. Research shows believers are refusing to compartmentalise faith to Sunday alone.
    • In your job: treat it as ministry, working for the Lord, not for men. (Colossians 3:23)
    • In your relationships: walk in love, forgiveness, integrity.
    • In your finances and mission: invest in eternal values, support gospel work, share the good news.
  2. Encourage the Body: At Deeper Realms International we stand for “deep revelation of God’s Word”, “transformation by the Spirit”, and “global kingdom impact.” These moor us in the present while orienting us to the future.
  3. Practical steps for today:
    • Cultivate a prayer life of anticipation: “your kingdom come, your will be done.”
    • Study Scripture with the lens of the return of Christ. Use devotionals that ask: “If Christ came today, how would I be ready?”
    • Live with hope: Even in trials, we remember the Lord’s promised return. (Titus 2:13)
    • Serve with love: Seek the lost, the lonely, the broken. The return of Christ motivates our urgency.
  4. Witness in a digital age: In a world of shrinking Christian influence (especially in some regions) but growing global digital access, your online presence, your voice, your ministry matter more than ever. You are part of the movement of God reaching into every home, city, and screen.
Application: Make a commitment right now to one area you will enhance for readiness—be it prayer, Scripture intake, mission outreach, or personal holiness.

IV. Hope, Responsibility & Reward

  1. Hope: “We shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.” (1 John 3:2)
  2. Responsibility: Not every believer will be complacent. The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14‑30) shows that faith without action is not enough.
  3. Reward: Whether in this life or the next, the faithful will hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:21)
  4. Final word: The last chapter of the Bible ends with this invitation: “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20)
Let us live in that expectancy.
Application: Encourage one another. Carry hope. Be faithful in the small things because the King is coming.

Conclusion

Dear friends, the return of Christ is not a fear-filled doctrine but a glorious hope. It calls us to live now in light of tomorrow. It invites us into deeper realms of revelation, power and purpose (which is our core vision at Deeper Realms International). Let us not delay; let us be spiritually ready, mission-oriented, holiness-driven, and hope-filled.

Let us pray:

“Father, thank You for the promise of Your Son’s return. Help me to walk in readiness, to live as a citizen of heaven, to serve in the power of the Holy Spirit, and to bear witness to Your Kingdom until You come. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Go in peace. Be watchful. Be faithful. And may you walk in the deeper realms of God’s Word and purpose until He comes.
