Theme: GOD OF ALL POSSIBILITIES Pt. 5
Texts: Luke 2:35; Luke 4:18
By: Min. Eliezer Owoichoya Onah

Introduction
Man, by himself, is limited. But with the Holy Spirit, what seems impossible becomes possible (Luke 1:37).
In Luke 2:35, Simeon prophetically declared how God’s Spirit reveals the thoughts and intents of the heart.
In Luke 4:18, Jesus affirms that His mission was enabled and empowered by the Spirit.
Thesis: Without the Spirit, divine assignments and impossible manifestations cannot come to pass.
1. The Role of the Holy Spirit in Revelation (Luke 2:35)
- The Spirit exposes the thoughts of the heart, revealing hidden things (1 Corinthians 2:10).
- Every impossibility bows when divine revelation comes (e.g., Joseph interpreting Pharaoh’s dream – Genesis 41:38–40).
Application: Seek the Spirit for discernment before acting on matters that appear impossible. Spiritual insight precedes supernatural breakthrough.
2. The Holy Spirit as the Power for the Impossible (Luke 4:18)
- Jesus’ ministry began only after the Spirit came upon Him (Luke 3:22; Acts 10:38).
- The Spirit empowers us to:
- Preach to the poor – turning hopelessness into hope.
- Heal the brokenhearted – restoring shattered lives.
- Deliver the captives – breaking satanic chains.
- Give sight to the blind – opening eyes naturally and spiritually.
- Set the oppressed free – reversing situations man calls impossible.
Application: If Christ, the Son of God, needed the Spirit to manifest impossibilities, how much more do we?
3. The Holy Spirit and the Manifestation of the Supernatural
- Mary’s Conception (Luke 1:34–35): The Spirit made possible what biology called impossible.
- Pentecost (Acts 2:1–4): The Spirit turned fearful men into bold witnesses.
- Apostolic Signs (Acts 5:12–16): Impossibilities were turned into testimonies by the Spirit’s power.
Application: The Spirit is the activator of God’s promises (Zechariah 4:6).
4. Keys to Experiencing the Spirit in Impossibilities
- Surrender – Yield completely to the Spirit (Romans 8:14).
- Faith – Believe that with God, nothing is impossible (Mark 9:23).
- Prayer & Fasting – Position yourself for divine empowerment (Acts 13:2–3).
- Obedience – The Spirit manifests most where obedience is total (John 2:5).
Conclusion
The Holy Spirit is the bridge between human weakness and divine possibilities.
What is impossible with men becomes possible with God when the Spirit is at work.
Just as Jesus declared in Luke 4:18, we too must rely on the Spirit to manifest God’s kingdom in impossible situations.
Prayer Points
- Lord, fill me afresh with Your Spirit for divine empowerment.
- Holy Spirit, manifest impossibilities in my life and family.
- Every area of captivity in my destiny—by the Spirit, I receive freedom.
- Father, use me as a vessel of the Spirit to bring solutions where men see impossibilities.
