Anchor Scripture: Matthew 2:2
*“Where is He that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east, and are come to worship Him.”

INTRODUCTION
Worship means to bow, to honor, to revere, and to give worth.
King means a male sovereign ruler of a kingdom, one who has authority, dominion, and rulership.
Before we talk about worshipping the King, we must first talk about knowing the King.
True worship is impossible without revelation. You cannot genuinely worship whom you do not know.
Knowing King Jesus involves developing a personal relationship with Him through faith, prayer, obedience, and understanding His teachings. Worship flows naturally from intimacy and revelation.
KNOWING THE KING
To know Jesus is more than knowing facts about Him; it is to encounter Him personally. The Wise Men did not merely hear about a King—they sought Him, found Him, and worshipped Him.
WHO IS THIS KING?
King Jesus, also known as Jesus Christ, is central to Christian belief and theology. He is recognized as the Messiah (the Anointed One) and the Savior of the world. Below is a summary of who Jesus is as the Born King.
1. The Promised Messiah
Jesus is the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies concerning a coming King who would establish God’s eternal kingdom.
📖 Isaiah 9:6–7
đź“– Micah 5:2
His birth was foretold to be miraculous—born of a virgin and in Bethlehem.
📖 Matthew 1:18–25

3. Born King of the Jews

đź“– Matthew 2:2
This title emphasizes His royal lineage as a descendant of King David, fulfilling God’s covenant promise of an eternal throne.
📖 2 Samuel 7:12–16
Though born in a manger, He carried the authority of a King.
4. The Savior of the World
Jesus came to redeem humanity from sin through His sacrifice on the cross.
đź“– John 3:16
đź“– Romans 5:8
Through His resurrection, He defeated sin and death and offers eternal life to all who believe in Him. His kingship is not enforced by force but established through love and redemption.
5. The King of Kings
Jesus is not only the King of Israel—He is the King over all creation.
đź“– Revelation 19:16
His kingdom is eternal, unshakable, and characterized by righteousness, peace, justice, and truth. Every earthly kingdom will fade, but His reign has no end.
6. The Light of the World
Jesus came to bring light to those in spiritual darkness and to guide humanity back to God.
đź“– John 8:12
Wherever this King reigns, darkness loses its power.
WHY HE MATTERS
Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection demonstrate God’s love for humanity. Accepting Him as King and Savior transforms lives, brings forgiveness, restores purpose, and guarantees eternal hope.
To know Jesus as the Born King is to:
- Recognize His divine authority
- Trust fully in His sacrifice

True worship begins when revelation meets submission.
CONCLUSION
The Wise Men asked one question: “Where is He that is born King?”
